Morden and area residents will soon have all the latest “Chautauqua Spirit” news and events available at their finger tips.

The website www.Chautauquaspirit.com will launch February 15th and will feature the full calendar of events planned for 2008 to celebrate Morden as a Cultural Capital of Canada. In addition to the lineup of events, the site will also include ticket and venue information.

The many cultural events taking place in the community throughout the year are focused in six groups of projects; Journey Home Festival, Chautauqua Celebration Festival, Chautauqua Spirit workshops, Coming up Roses, Murals of Morden and Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre. The website includes descriptions and contact information of the events and activities within each project.

Visitors to the site will find interesting insight into how Morden was chosen for the award, the history of the “Chautauqua,” in Morden and how to get involved in the project.

In addition to the Federal grant Morden received for Chautauqua Spirit, various sponsors are contributing to the project and will be highlighted on the website. Additional sponsorship is welcome and details on how to get involved and who to contact will be listed.
