“Write Down Memory Lane” is workshop that will help to “bring heritage to life.”
In just four sessions with a relaxed and fun atmosphere, participants will learn how to take an important event or piece of their past and preserve it for years to come.
The workshops begin January 12. While oriented to the senior population, it is not restricted to seniors or to Morden residents, but open to anyone with an interest in recording a piece of their history.
Workshop facilitator Diana Wiebe is a life-long Morden resident and author of “Waltzing through the Century,” the biography of Ruth Winkler.
“Most people are good at telling stories,” says Wiebe. “These workshops take it to another level and I hope, after the fourth session, they will have written something worthwhile to them.”
The workshops will take place Jan. 12 & 26 and February 9 & 23 at the Morden Friendship Centre from 1:30 to 4 p.m.
There is no charge to participants as the cost is underwritten by Cultural Capital funding.
To register contact Diana Wiebe at 822-5006 or the Morden Friendship Centre at 822-3555.
