Morden residents and visitors can pick up a copy of the brochure at the Pembina Hills Arts Centre, the Library or the Civic Centre. These brochures were produced especially for the "Chautauqua Spirit" year. The Parkland Pathways Heritage Walks brochure describes Morden’s architectural, landscaping, and botanical heritage and also notes significant historical sites. The brochures are free but there will be a limited supply. An online copy of the walks can be viewed by clicking on the links above.
"Grow Your Roots" Garden Tour
The Morden Horticultural Society organized a self-guided "Grow Your Roots" Rose Garden Tour in Morden. It took place on June 21st, 2008 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. A total of twelve impressive private gardens were made accessible to the general public for this one day event. Brochures were available at the Pembina Hills Arts Centre from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on the day. Signs were posted at each site and maps were provided within the brochure. "Story of the Stones" Tour
Date: June 7th, 2008 - One Day Event
Time: 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm and 4:30m
Venue: Starting at the Art Gallery
There will be four guided walking tours with a special added twist. The tours will begin at the Art Gallery where you will meet your guide and pick up a brochure. From there you will visit four designated buildings in Morden where local actors in period costume will provide a five-minute introduction to the stone mansion, noting its history and architectural significance. The performances will take place each hour at each of the houses. The performances also will be recorded and made available for future self-guided walks.
